Much of the suffering you experience comes from our reluctance to accept the reality of the present moment. Accepting the present moment, with all its challenges and uncertainties, is the first step towards finding peace and contentment in your life. 'If you don't like something, change it. If you can't change it, change your attitude.' Although facing challenging life circumstances can be tough, resisting them only fuels negativity and unhappiness within you.
When negativity begins to build up, observe it without judgment and let it go.
As Eckhart Tolle wisely said, "The power is within you. The answer lies within you. You are the answer to all your questions: you are the goal. You are the answer. It's never external." If this feels difficult, try accepting it without fighting against it. Imagine yourself as if you are see-through, so that the irritation can pass right through you without sticking or causing any harm. This visualization can help reduce the impact of negative emotions or stress, making it easier for you to cope with difficulties.
External challenges are just situations until you label them as problems. Instead of resisting the present, try to refrain from labelling things as good or bad and simply accept them as part of life's natural rhythm. What do we need to navigate difficult situations effectively- Embracing both Acceptance and Presence. Focusing on the present moment instead of dwelling on the past or worrying about the future helps to break down problems into manageable pieces.
'The power for creating a better future is contained in the present moment: You create a good future by creating a good present.' Surrendering to the present moment is the first step toward taking productive action.
In undesirable situations, you have three choices: Change it, Leave it, or Accept it. If you can't change or leave a situation, accepting it is the only option. Dwelling on what you wish could be different only prolongs suffering. Instead, focus on what you can do now to move forward. If nothing can be done, surrender to the present without resistance, knowing circumstances will change on their own and as it does it would leave you behind with patience and valuable life lessons.
